Well the birthday party/shopping trip was a blast!!

We all went to eat at Red Lobster (at Katharyn's and Brittany's request) Friday night and had plenty of food and fun. I did eat fish, and mostly stayed good......I may have had 1 brownie....not maybe it was 2. Things got kinda blurry.

Saturday was the Galleria shopping extravaganza. We got there by 11:00 and by 2:00 the girls were out of money!! I couldn't believe it. Katharyn got her some cute things and I didn't even have anything to do with it! That was great. Annette and I went our separate ways from the girls and had fun of our own. I bought an outfit and wore it out of the store....just like "Pretty Women." Great fun! The Melting Pot restaurant was fabulous and I tried to keep the feeding down to a minimum.....but did do so good! I didn't do bad....but it is just finger food and it's hard to tell what all you eat. If it's on a plate I could do better. We had a great time there and that is all that matters....after all.!!

Shopped a little more on our way to Christe's from Annette's and had fun visiting with Christe's cute little family!! Then home.

Katharyn was exhausted but very satisfied with her birthday party adventure! That's fun.

All in all.......I lost 1 pound maybe 2 and I'll work real hard to keep it off for Monday's weigh-in.

I feel great and don't really want to eat meat...although Annette said I looked pale. She was wrong. I think I look good and the weight is coming off fairly well. What does she know. Lent starts Wednesday and I'm thinking about what to sacrifice what that....I'll update when I have prayed about it and come down to a sure decision.

Back to the gym this week and workout my quads and gluts very well yesterday, with arms today. A little sore in the back end :( but not too bad. Need to get to run, but Katharyn is at school late today, it rained yesterday....I'll just have to see about that. I did get a new sensor for my shoes.

Day 20 of this 21 day fast. Ya know it's not hard making the right decisions about food. But when life offers different paths it never easy. God has made my fasting seem simple.....and God can make those paths the right ones. It should be as easy to choose.

Somehow leaving the safety net of this Daniel fast is a little daunting. I feel great and it is a wonderful way to eat and to treat my body, but old habits could come back. I think I have learned an incredible lesson in my faith and my strength, but also in my choices in food. It can rule your life and dictate what you do and how you do it. I like being in control of at least this part of my life. Knowing in some way I am pleasing God through the simplicity of it!

Tomorrow is Katharyn's birthday.....Sweet 16.......so very hard to believe! Me the mother of a 16 year old child and she is happy and still living. Who knew!! God Did!

The last day of my fast will be wonderful. God has in the strangest of ways given me a great gift and I am so blessed. I feel so comfortable in this way of eating......it has worked for me! This weekend will be a true test, with Katharyn's birthday and traveling and shopping. Lots of opportunities to really mess up. I'll be OK.

OK it's really Feb. 3 by now......last night I fell asleep at 8! Barely made it up to go to bed....then couldn't go to sleep. Maybe then I should have gotten up and done this!

There are only 2 days left on this fast and I am so excited!! 21 days sacrificing to my God and showing Him how much I love Him and learning and growing as a Christian. Is there anything better? I have done really well and I know it's because He has been there the help and encourage me! My prayer request have been heard and He is working some incredible miracles as only He can!

Yesterday was a gorgeous day and when I got home.....I ran! I did! Well actually I walked up all the hills.....even some little ones.....but I made it all the way up the last one! So most of the way I ran....more than half really. I did good....really good! Some soreness last night and I'm sure today. But I was already sore from working out Monday. Sore muscles just are constant! They haven't really ever left me now for 2 years!! At least it's not always the same ones, that would be doctor worthy. I am strong!! or at least should be!

Busy busy weekend coming up. But fun I hope. Going to Annette's for Katharyn's birthday party and shopping at the Galleria. Woo-Hoo! So glad I have Annette! At least for a little while then she is off again to California to stay with Riley.

So many prayers have been answered this 21 days I am glorify God for honoring me with His blessings. Praise be to God - He is the almighty.

Toady has been a rush!! Work was crazy as only the first day of the month can be. It was an absolute blur. But, yes, don't worry I got lunch! Left work and pickup Katharyn, washed dried and folded 3 loads of clothes, made my supper, balance my checkbook, checked out the wheelchair (it's broke) and cut Katharyn's nails. Packed up and went to bible study. Came home, bathed Katharyn finished the wash (well mostly) cleaned up the kitchen, discussed the birthday party, washed my face, brushed my teeth, set down and blogged......done! Hands in the air, looking for the clock! Did I win! One more day! Go Me!

My fasting has 3 more days. Busy days at work really do help out! I will continue some aspects of this fast for lent.....not sure which part yet. Probably the meat, and keep the bread at a small minimum. My body has done very well these last few weeks and this fast has taught me something about my diet. I've enjoyed it. Plus the prayer fest!! Really praying hard for Mike and our family. God has lots to do with him, but He is a great God and can handle it! Waiting for His miracles!! I have felt so much closer to God and seeing His creation and His love around me. He had revealed Himself to me in my life. I trust Him more!!
